Change occurs when you become what you are, not when you try to become what you are not.
— Arnold Beisser
I work with clients to develop an increased awareness and acceptance of the present moment so that they may learn to track, process and integrate what they feel, need, and experience in the world. Awareness of the here and now draws us toward our authentic selves and away from repetitive patterns of unhelpful thoughts, faulty beliefs and harmful behaviors. Acceptance in this context means that rather than challenge or deny what we truly feel, we allow ourselves to take in what is present and work with it accordingly.
Every session is co-created and together we can move in the direction of safety and understanding to experience a more meaningful connection with ourselves and the world. To help clients with change, we explore and re-situate the many parts of an ever-transforming self: those parts that are loved and valued as well as those that may be self-critical, condemning or disowned. By giving voice and expression to unheard or misunderstood parts of ourselves and by connecting with those parts, we can make choices to break old patterns to become who we truly are.
